Hunome 2.0: Collective sensemaking and shared thinking in 2026
Collective sensemaking brings together diverse perspectives and makes sense of shared understanding
In 2026, nobody struggles to find information. The real bottleneck is getting people to think together in a structured, transparent way—across roles, silos, and worldviews—without flattening nuance or outsourcing the hard work to generic AI narratives.
That is the gap Hunome exists to close.
Hunome is a space where many minds can build one evolving understanding: where you can see how thinking connects, where it diverges, and how it matures over time into decisions, actions, and impact.
This year, we are taking a significant step in that purpose. We live in an era of disruption, the power of good thinking, together, is needed more than ever as the other powers are significant.
Hunome 2.0: seeing shared thinking from many angles
Our new release is built around one goal: make the collective thinking itself easier to see, navigate, and work with—whether you are an individual, a Humanathon lead, a societal organisation, or an enterprise team.
Release 2.0 incorporates many of the ideas and frustrations you shared with us during Humanathons and in direct conversations. This release is for the Free Forever product tier.
It introduces:
New ways of viewing your thinking permaculture. Move between high-level patterns and detailed contributions without losing context. See how one question branches into many lines of thought, and how they relate.
Richer navigation through complex themes in the Full SparkMap view. Follow threads by your contributions, how others have added new thinking around you, get back to your pins with ease to continue the deliberation, where you have already been and what remains to explore. Shift from “What did people say?” to “What does this reveal about how we see the issue?”
More accessible analytics, search within the SparkMap to see where in the SparkMap are the contributions of a particular kind. See where novel thinking is emerging, see which Sparks are trends to explore, see where agreement is high or low. Use this to brief, mobilise networks, or guide your next move.
Inviting your wider community in regular cadencies as you see gaps in the deliberation, a discipline of thought is missing, e.g., no human system ‘economic’ involved leaving the deliberation vulnerable. Use the spot invite feature for this, enabling you to direct them exactly where you think they need to add their perspective.
Experience Hunome 2.0 for yourself and take a walk through the living structure of shared understanding.
How different groups are using Hunome
For individuals
Exploring an issue you care about and seeing how others reason about it.
Building a visible trail of your thinking, not just your opinions.
For Humanathon leads and network conveners
Hosting collective thinking that doesn’t disappear when the event ends.
Turning contributions into a reusable resource for your community or network.
Showing funders and partners not just “what was discussed” but how the understanding evolved.
For societal organisations
Bringing stakeholders, experts, and lived-experience voices into one structured space.
Making tensions, trade-offs, and blind spots explicit—before policies or programs are locked in.
Keeping a continuous record that can be revisited as context shifts.
For enterprises
Our enterprise program in 2026–contact us for a demo and discussion
Safely surfacing perspectives across functions and regions on strategic questions.
Stress-testing assumptions and options with a traceable, auditable thinking process.
Giving leadership a clear view of the decision landscape, not just a slide deck.
In all these cases, the value is the same: a durable, navigable record of how people thought about something together—and what that makes possible.
SparkMaps: one theme to deliberate, many minds, one evolving structure
At the heart of this are SparkMaps: living maps of perspectives around a meaningful question.
A SparkMap lets you:
Bring in diverse voices without losing coherence.
See emergent themes, tensions, and outliers.
Keep the reasoning, references, and context attached to each contribution.
Return to the same theme later, with new eyes and new inputs.
A simple way to start:
Pick one issue that truly matters in your context.
Kick-off a SparkMap
Describe the intent of the build (your issue, theme)
Outline the approach of the build (guided)
Create the very first Spark as your core perspective to the issue or theme
Invite a mix of people (5–12 is enough to start with) from different roles, domains, or communities.
Spot invite people to a spot that is most relevant for them, the very beginning, your first Spark or elsewhere in the growing SparkMap
You can invite, in the Free Forever product, 5 individuals per month and these are then seen on site for you to keep up with whom you have invited
Let them contribute over 90 minutes live, or over a couple of weeks asynchronously.
The asynchronous option is a default in the approach. All Hunome members (signed up users) are welcome to contribute in their own time.
Use the SparkMap to understand the decision space—not to rush to closure.
Hunome is your thinking permaculture, enabling you to build a very robust view to a pressing or otherwise issue in the world.
You can keep increasing the contributor numbers and the SparkMap by just inviting more and they can contribute to areas where they have something to add.
Very often, that change in how you look at the question is already a major shift. Mingling with other thinkers in and around the thematic space makes you think differently. Boosting serendipity.
A 30‑day sensemaking rhythm you can try
Whether you are an individual, a Humanathon lead, a societal organisation, or an enterprise team, this simple rhythm works:
Frame
Choose one question where confusion, tension, or stakes are high.
Name the uncertainty instead of hiding it.
Map
Invite perspectives from inside and outside the usual circle.
Capture not just “what” but “why” and “based on what”.
Move
Use the structure to identify patterns, tensions, and promising paths.
Decide what to explore, test, or communicate next.
Repeating this on a regular cadence builds a thinking backbone you can lean on, instead of starting from scratch each time.
Work with this in your context

Or, if you led or joined a Humanathon, bring your group back to see how their input has shaped the new release. Contact us for “Starter” for an upgrade discussion.
Or, larger societal organizations and enterprise clients contact us for “Anchor” to explore the Premium product tier.
We built this product with you and for you, making it easier for you to build shared understanding. Now we’d love to see what you do with it.
Making sense together,
Dominique & the Hunome team
