Terms of Service

Welcome to Hunome! On Hunome clients and individuals build shared understanding on themes that need to be deliberated on together. Hunome is a collective sensemaking product available for you to build understanding for robust and resonating decisions, whether in business, societal organizations or as groups and networks even as an individual building solo.

To be invited and be able to use the Hunome services, you need to agree with the Terms of Service described in this document. These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Hunome and they govern your use of Hunome’s services through our websites and applications. This document describes in detail your rights and our rights relating to the provision of the Hunome services, so please review these Terms carefully. By using Hunome’s services, you accept these terms and conditions in full.

The services are provided by Hunomics Ltd 2858779-8 | Sturenkatu 26, 00510, Helsinki, Finland. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Hunomics Ltd and Hunome.

Summary

• Our purpose is to help humanity make sense of itself: what works, what does not, and what next within a theme of interest for better decisions in many contexts. Here you can build knowledge and understanding that helps you and your community and context to make sense of what next for better decisions.

• You own the content that you share. The content you decide to publish is transparent for all our members to see (Free Forever and Starter products), as our purpose is to build a better view to varying perspectives and their connections. You also grant us and other users certain rights and license to use your content. These are described in detail below in section 3. On Premium product you can control who sees what.

• You are responsible for the content that you share. By sharing content on Hunome, you represent and warrant that you have the necessary rights to that material, and assure that it does not violate Hunome’s policies or the legal rights of another party or any applicable laws or regulations. You assume all risks associated with your content.

• You can share content from Hunome elsewhere, provided that you attribute the content back to the Hunome platform and respect the rights of the original content creator, and do not use automated tools. 

• We do not endorse or verify content created and shared by users. Hunome content and materials are provided to you ‘as is’, without pre-screening or any guarantees. You are solely responsible for your own use of the Hunome platform.

• We offer you tools to report misbehaviors and give feedback. You can give feedback and report complaints and misbehaviors, and we encourage you to do so if you find such on Hunome. If you think someone has violated your intellectual property rights, other laws, or Hunome’s policies and community code of conduct, you can report it with the tools we provide for this.

• You must be 16 years or older to use Hunome. You will be asked to state your age in the registration process. If you are between 13 and 16 years of age, you can use Hunome if you have consent from your parent or legal guardian.

• When you create your account and set up a profile on the Hunome Platform, you will be asked to provide certain information about yourself, including your real name. We treat your personal information you provide with care in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

• You may close your account anytime. In this case the content you have contributed and authorized on Hunome for other members to see will remain available to Hunome members even if you disable your account. Your identity as the author can either be anonymized, or you can choose for your name, username and photo to remain as the contributor of the content on the map of human understanding.

• You agree to follow the rules of Hunome. In order to be able to join and use Hunome, you must agree to these Terms of Service. Our Community Code of Conduct is a guide to your conduct on Hunome and our Privacy and Cookie Policies outline how we collect and use your data, so please read them carefully, too.

Hunome’s purpose

Our purpose is to help humanity make sense of multidimensional themes for better decisions in many contexts. Here you can build knowledge and understanding that helps you and humanity make sense for better decisions. For this, Hunome provides services for engaging people and their thinking to improve individual and collective understanding.

You must be 16 years or older to use Hunome. You will be asked to state your age in the registration process. If you are between 13 and 16 years of age, you can use Hunome if you have consent from your parent or legal guardian.

Registration or sign-up

When you set up a profile on Hunome, you will be asked to provide certain information about yourself. You agree to provide us accurate information, including your real name or the real name of the entity you represent. If you’re using Hunome on behalf of an organization, you agree to these Terms on behalf of that organization and represent that you have full legal authority to bind such entity to these terms. When you have accepted these Terms and we have accepted your registration, Hunome grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sub-licensable, irrevocable, limited right to use the Hunome Platform and Services for the duration of the contract. 

Language

The language to be used on Hunome is English. You may author in any language but in collective sensemaking it is best to choose a language you have in common with all contributors and those you wish to bring into the deliberation.

Privacy Policy

We will treat information you provide as part of registration with utmost care in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which governs our collection and use of your personal information. 

Community Code of Conduct

Our purpose is to help humanity make sense of multidimensional themes for better decisions, so we rely on each other to behave according to our Community Code of Conduct. Failure to act in accordance with the Code of Conduct is considered to be a serious breach of Hunome’s Terms of Service and as a result, you may lose your privilege to participate and we may remove content or suspend or delete your account.

Account Termination 

You may close your account by sending an email to hello@hunome.com. In this case your user account will no longer be active on Hunome Services, and we will delete all personal identification information which corresponds to you. 

There are a few different approaches you can choose from (see next paragraph), but in all cases the content you have contributed and authorized on Hunome for other members to see will remain available to Hunome members even if you disable your account. We do this because all content shared and stored in Hunome is connected and these connections are the heart and soul of Hunome, making it possible to pursue Hunome’s purpose to help humanity make sense of itself for better decisions in many contexts. Erasing published content from connected maps would severely harm our purpose. Hunome is a collective platform where contributions are interconnected, and deleting individual Sparks would break shared understanding for others (protected as freedom of expression under GDPR Art. 17). You control visibility at contribution time (public/specific SparkMap). You can request full erasure at any time, and we’ll comply unless the above exemptions apply.

You can request, this is an exception to these terms, your identity as the author to be anonymized, or you can choose for your name, username and photo to remain as the contributor of the content on the map of human understanding of our humanness. Other members will still be able to view the profile associated with your account, but if you choose anonymity when you leave, the content will no longer contain personal identification information (name, username and photo). 

We may terminate or suspend your Hunome account and delete all or any of your content if you violate any Hunome policy or for any other reason deemed necessary. If Hunome terminates your account for these reasons, your shared content will be handled the same way as described above.  

Your content 

You own the content that you share. By sharing content in Hunome, you agree to give us a perpetual, irrevocable and royalty-free global license and rights to publish, use, store, copy, analyze, process, display, and distribute your content.  We may also use the content in Hunome to promote Hunome on other media and publications. You also agree to license your published content to all Hunome users on the same terms.  

Your content you decide to publish is transparent for all our members to see and use (on Free Forever and Starter product tiers), as our purpose is to build a better view to humanity making sense of itself with shared perspectives and their connections. Your unpublished (draft) content will never be shown to other users before you authorize others to see it. If you have something personal there, be aware that it will be seen by those who find your content. Please never share any confidential information nor infringe on others’ copyright. 

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the content that you share in Hunome. By sharing content on Hunome, you represent and warrant that you have the necessary rights to that material, and assure that it does not violate Hunome’s policies or the legal rights of another party or any applicable laws or regulations. You are responsible for ensuring that the content you share is not in conflict with any other agreements you’ve made. You assume all risks associated with your content, including intellectual property, copyright or other legal claims. You confirm that any images, text or information that you make available or create while using Hunome will meet the Community Code of Conduct. 

The Service may contain links to and from third party services. If you share or follow a link to any of these services, please note that these services have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for any third-party sites and their policies. Please check the individual policies before you submit any information to or from those services.

Do not contribute viruses or malware.

Do not use automated tools to share or to aggregate or create derivative works. If you intend to share any content from Hunome, please check the copyright of the owner of the work.

Disclaimer

We do not endorse or verify content created and shared by users. Hunome content and materials are provided to you ‘as is’, without pre-screening or any guarantees. We cannot be held responsible for any errors in the contents in Hunome or for the information being accurate, complete, or suitable for any purposes. You are solely responsible for your own use of the Hunome platform. While we have no duty to do so, we have the right to review and remove your contributions to Hunome. 

Deleting content

You can delete your draft works and your published work until other Hunome members connect with it. 

Reporting misbehaviors and giving feedback

You can give feedback and report complaints, misbehaviors, or security gaps, and we encourage you to do so if you find such on Hunome. If you think someone has violated your intellectual property rights, other laws, or Hunome’s policies and Community Code of Conduct, you can report it on Hunome with the on page tools or by emailing hello@hunome.com. 

We welcome your feedback and suggestions about how to improve Hunome, and any concerns or questions you may have. You can submit feedback with the tools provided for this on Hunome or by emailing hello@hunome.com. By submitting feedback, you agree to grant us the right, at our discretion, to use, disclose and otherwise exploit the feedback, in whole or part, freely and without compensation to you.

Hunome content

Hunomics Ltd is the owner of all intellectual property rights in the Hunome and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. All Hunome original content, the design of the website, look and feel, features, and functionality belong to Hunome. You may not use any of Hunome’s trademarks, design rights, logos, domain names or any distinctive brand features or copyright owned by Hunome without our written permission unless otherwise permitted by law.  

Hunome licence to you

We grant you a personal, global, royalty-free, non-assignable and non-exclusive, revocable licence to use and access to Hunome and its content and materials and data for lawful and information purposes as made available to you in connection with your use of Hunome, subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement. You must not use Hunome Services other than for its intended purpose as set out in these Terms of Service.   

Changes to the Hunome Platform 

We are continuously improving your experience of using Hunome. For this purpose we may need to add features or modify or change our services, or terminate user accounts that don’t comply with our terms, and may do so without notice to you. We are not liable for any damages as a result of this.

Modifying or Changing the Terms of Service

We may modify or change these Terms at any time, and may do so from time to time to reflect changes in market conditions affecting Hunome, changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements and changes in our systems, or new features being added to Hunome. If we make changes that we believe will change your rights, we will let you know before they take effect. By using Hunome on or after that effective date, you agree to the new Terms. If you don’t agree to them, you should delete your account before they take effect, otherwise your use of the site and content will be subject to the new Terms. It is important that you review these Terms regularly to ensure you are updated as to any changes.

Arbitration and Governing Law

We want to resolve any disputes fairly and quickly. If you have any issue with Hunome, please contact us and we will work with you in good faith to try to resolve the matter.  If we can’t resolve the dispute informally, you and Hunome agree to resolve any claim against each other through final and binding arbitration. These Terms will be governed by the laws of Finland.   

Limitation of Liability

Hunome will not be liable to you for any damages or losses that arise from your using the Services. This includes if the Services are hacked or unavailable. 

Security

We take the security of Hunome very seriously and work hard to protect your content and account, but we can’t absolutely guarantee that third parties won’t be able to defeat our security measures. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and on any activities that occur under your Account. Please let us know immediately if you discover any compromise or unauthorized use of your account.

Waiver

No waiver of any terms will be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or any other term. Our failure to assert a right or provision under these Terms will not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Hunome from and against any loss, expense, liability, damage, claim (including reasonable attorney fees) that arises out of User’s culpable violation of the User’s obligations under these Terms. You are responsible for your use of the service. If you harm someone else or get into a dispute with someone else, we will not be involved. You agree to release Hunome from any and all claims, demands and damages of every kind and nature, known and unknown, arising out of or in any way connected with such disputes.

Free Forever tier of product

Hunome offers the Service on a cost-free basis (“Free Forever”). We reserve the right to adjust the Hunome offering from time-to-time and update the Service to new services that may be paid services upon advance notice to customers. 

Starter tier of product

Hunome offers an update to the Free Forever product called Starter product. The terms here apply to that product with additional contractual obligations when paid.

Premium tier of product

Hunome offers larger clients a Premium tier of product. The terms here apply to this product also with additional contractual obligations. Please contact us on hello@hunome.com
